Why did I buy R-15? Why not Pulsar 220cc?
People have been asking me this question! For heaven's sake don't compare Pulsar with Yamaha! its like comparing "sunny" with "R1" :O..
Yamaha R-15 is a subset of Yamaha R1 and it looks SEXY HOT!
It has a liquid cooled engine which is far better than oil cooled or air cooled. Idling rpm is 1500rpm which is normally prevalent in high-end racing bikes!
and moreover it is powered with Yamaha Engine.
The feel is Ultimate! The power is simply awesome!
Facts:
- India’s first 150cc 4 valve engine.
- It is India’s first Bike with forged pistons.
- It is India’s first Bike with a Diasil Cylinder.
- It is India’s first Bike with the Deltabox frame, again based on the R1.
- It is India’s first Bike with a 6speed gear box.
I have driven both pulsar 220cc and R-15 and I really liked R-15. R-15 is a 150cc racing bike! For those of you who are looking for Power, Speed and grabbing the attention of everyone on the road - go for R-15.
So within 5 days i covered 1000km. Had been to Savandurga, Manchinbelle Dam, almost near Mysore, KailasaGiri-Chintamani. Will be posting few videos of my stunts on R-15 asap. :P
*On-Road Price : 1,11,400 INR

Rite said... People think of only in the terms of CC and not the quality of the Engine... Yamaha is way better than most...
Yup... and moreover in this bik! they hav extracted max amount of power from 150cc engine...
Yamaha Rocks!
150cc bike for 1.12 lakhs??? woah :-o wats so special in it ?? is it giving mileage of 200kmpl by any chance ?? :D
@Anil - Dude... it has superb power 17bhp and in this power it gives mileage of 40! and i dont look at only mileage! i need power + looks + mileage , this is the only vehicle which has all the three therefore its worth 1.11lak... ;)
Dream bike to own...Easily beats any bike(any range of cc between 150 and 220) in terms of initial pickup, power and looks.
Has better handling at high speeds when compared to pulsar 220cc which doesn't have good rear brake.(Not as responsive and sharp as R15)
awesome bike!!
Nice bike... I hope the girls have fun now!
@Akshara - GIRLS ??? :O :O yeh they definitely do...
